Pastor Fred Ayers grew up in Jacksonville, Florida and attended Auburn University graduating with a Civil Engineering degree in 1982. After working as a licensed professional engineer at various locations on the east coast for 16 years, he was called into the ministry and obtained his Master of Ministry degree in 1998. In June of 1999 he accepted the pastorate at Walnut Creek Baptist Church and has been the pastor since. He married his wife Ann in 1983, and they have four children and twelve grandchildren. He enjoys snow skiing, running, and following Auburn football. Ann attended Auburn University where she received her bachelor’s degree in dietetics. She loves children ministries and desires to see our youngest attenders grow and flourish in their faith in Jesus Christ. Mallory grew up in Grove City, PA and graduated from Slippery Rock University with a dual degree in Elementary and Special Education.  She and her husband Nathan were married in 2006.  They moved to Erie for Nathan’s job in 2011.  Nathan, Mallory, and their two kids have been members of WCBC since 2015. In 2018, Nathan and Mallory became co-leaders of our I.M.P.A.C.T. Youth group.  In September 2020, Mallory began her job as the Administrative Assistant.  Her primary roles include teen/young adult leadership and planning, special event planning, outreach, and being ready to help in any area.

Josh Melto grew up in Walnut Creek for almost all his life and was involved in choir and other ministries from an early age. He started out as an intern and is completing his degree for Pastoral Ministries online. Josh works with the youth group weekly and helps lead a SEED Group of young adults. He works as a Ministry Assistant working in nearly all aspects of ministry and manages our social media platforms and live streaming. He has been on staff since January of 2020.

Denny grew up in Spanaway, WA, and served in the Air Force for ten years as an Air Traffic Controller from 2006-2016. He and his wife Hannah have been married for 11 years and have three boys. Denny, Hannah, and their family moved to Erie in 2016, where Denny also works as an Air Traffic Controller. Since 2016, they have been attending Walnut Creek, serving in various roles. In 2018, Denny was called into ministry and graduated from Veritas Baptist College in 2021 with a Bachelor of Ministry in Pastoral Studies. In addition, Denny is pursuing a Master of Ministry with a pastoral concentration from Veritas. Denny leads the music ministry of Walnut Creek.
